This month we are hanging out in California. With work commitments and a storage unit full of stuff we need to either get rid of or move to Washington, the way was paved for us to spend a significant chunk of the month.
Since we needed to bring back a bunch of stuff, we opted to drive down. Part one of our journey includes our road trip down as well as our stay in South Lake Tahoe with Granny Judy.
Sadly, we had to leave Katie with our friends, but don’t feel too sorry for her. She enjoys being an honorary member of their family!
This past weekend, I had the pleasure of spending a bit of down time (and doing a bit of work), with an awesome group of girls. My friend Amber has a cabin up at Thomas Lake in Eastern Washington, so we loaded up her car with supplies and hit the road for a weekend full of styled photo shoots, s’mores around the campfire and more laughter than I think I’ve had since high school. It was an amazing time, and I am so grateful to have these girls in my life!
Meanwhile, Jim was house/dog sitting and working on his car. Check out the contrast in our weekends!
This week, we hit the road for California. Check back soon for updates on our road trip adventure!
For those of you who are new to Life at Six Knots and who don’t already know, Jim and I are make most of our income doing wedding photography. If you want to check out our work or learn more about Jim and Stephanie Sutherlin, Wedding Photographers, check out our website by clicking the link.
Kasey and Gabe are our very first wedding clients in Washington. When we heard that Gabe had proposed at Brownsville Marina, we knew right away that they our kind of clients. And when they suggested the marina was a place they might like to shoot their engagement session, we were stoked!
We woke up the morning of the session to blue skies and just enough wind. The video below documents our afternoon prepping the boat for sailing, cruising to Brownsville and a bit of our session with Kasey and Gabe!
